USDOT GRANTS FOR TRANSPORTATION INVESTMENT GENERATING ECONOMIC RECOVERY | AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT

SOUTHWESTERN ILLINOIS REGIONAL INTERMODAL FREIGHT TRANSPORTATION HUB

 

The Tri-City Regional Port District (TCRPD) applied for a Federal grant under the U.S. Department of Transportation's Grants for Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recover (TIGER Grants) program as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). Though the TCRPD did not receive the entire requested amount, it was one of the 51 projects selected to receive funds from the TIGER Grants program. The TCRPD was awarded $6-million dollars to be used towards the project and work is currently under way towards utilization of this grant.
